I am trying to see all popular movies that touch upon Dementia, and in recent years there have been some excellent ones (e.g. Still Alice; Iris; Alive Inside; and more). Somehow, the Canadian movie "Still Mine" (2013) slipped my hands, and I did not see it at the time it went out. The story line is quite simple: An aging Canadian couple, that struggles both with the wife's deteriorating dementia, along with government bureaucracy that tries to prevent them from building a new house on their property. The husband is played by James Cromwell, who really plays great quite a challenging role. I enjoyed watching the movie, and while not as strong or sophisticated compared to more well known movies on this issue - the strength of this movie is in its simplicity and humanity, presenting the challenges of love, partnership, and living with dementia in old age.
