I must confess that I always liked Diane Keaton. Even more so, as in recent years she has participated in many successful "gerontological movies" (e.g. Something's Gotta Give). So, I was optimistic re the movie "Hampstead" with Brendan Gleeson. The story is very simple: an American widow finds unexpected love with a man living wild on Hampstead Heath when they take on the developers who want to destroy his home. Unfortunately, the movie is very disappointing: it is not funny, the plot has nothing really interesting or surprising, it is full with stereotypical characters, and has typical ageist (and sexist) portrayals of older (American) women. Keaton cannot be proud of this movie, and you can certainly skip this one....
